DEAR BIG TICKET PRIVACY POLICY
1. About Us and Dear Big Ticket
1.1. The Dear Big Ticket competition (“Dear Big Ticket” or the “Competition”) is organized and managed solely by The Big Ticket LLC (the “Operator”, “We”, “Us”, and “Our”), a company registered in the Abu Dhabi Airport Free Zone with commercial licence number ADAFZ00444 and its registered office at Warehouse No. A12 – 1,2,5,6 – Zayed International Airport, Logistics Park, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
1.2. We use the terms “you” and “your” to mean any person accessing or using the Site (as defined below) or interacting with Us in connection with the Competition. We will also refer to you as an “Entrant” or a “Voter” depending on how you use the Site and your involvement in the Competition, as further explained and defined in our Terms and Conditions dearbigticket.ae/terms-and-conditions/ and section 7 below.
2. About this Policy
2.1. The purpose of this privacy policy (the “Policy”) is to provide you with information about how We collect, generate, and process personal data (“Personal Data”), and about the cookies which are used, in connection with the Dear Big Ticket and Our website www.dearbigticket.ae (the “Site”). This Policy should be read in conjunction with the Dear Big Ticket Terms and Conditions dearbigticket.ae/terms-and-conditions/ (the “Competition Terms”).
2.2. For information about how We collect and use your Personal Data when you register for a Big Ticket account with Us more generally, please refer to Our privacy policy at www.bigticket.ae. This Policy should also be read in conjunction with the Big Ticket privacy policy where applicable.
2.3. This Policy was written in English. To the extent any translated version of this Policy conflicts with the English version, the English version prevails
3. What is Personal Data?
3.1. Personal Data refers to any information from which it is practicable for the identity of an individual to be ascertained.
4. Your use of the Site and the types of Personal Data We collect
4.1. Dear Big Ticket aims to give entrants the opportunity to win life-changing prizes by submitting a Wish to Us, as described in further detail on the Site and in the FAQs dearbigticket.ae/faq/ During the submission period, entrants may create a wish and submit it to Us via the Site (a “Wish”). During the voting period, members of the public can help make a Wish come true by viewing and voting for their favourite Wishes on the Site.
4.2. How you use the Site and the Personal Data we collect will, to some extent, be determined by whether you are:
(a) an individual submitting a Wish (an “Entrant”); or
(b) an individual voting for your favourite Wishes (a “Voter”).
4.3. Where you are an Entrant, we may collect and process Personal Data:
(a) that you provide to Us, such as when you apply for Our Competition and submit details of your Wish. This includes your name, contact details, date of birth, passport and/or Emirates ID number, nationality, and any other information that you choose to share in your Wish submission which may be considered Personal Data; and
(b) that we obtain from other sources. For instance, we may need to verify your eligibility to receive a prize by obtaining Personal Data from fraud prevention service providers, screening providers, other vendors that provide services on Our behalf, and publicly available sources.
4.4. Where you are a Voter, we may collect and process Personal Data:
(a) that you provide to Us, such as when you register to vote. This includes First Name , Last Name, Email Address.
4.5. In all cases, when you visit the Site, we may collect and process Personal Data:
(a) using cookies and other automatic data collection technologies through the Site (for more information on the cookies used by Us, please see section 13 on “Cookies” below); and
(b) from social media platforms and networks if you interact with Us on social media or use features (such as plugins, widgets, or other tools made available by social media platforms or networks) in connection with the Site or the Competition. For more information about the privacy practices of those social media platforms, please review the privacy policies and settings of the social media platforms and networks that you use.
4.6. We may also create information based on Our analysis of the information We have collected from you
5. Personal Data relating to minors
5.1. Protecting the safety and privacy of children is very important to Us. We do not specifically request the Personal Data of minors in accordance with local legislation in force in connection with the Competition. Please also note that, in accordance with the Competition Terms, all Entrants must be over the age of 18. However, We acknowledge that Entrants may submit a Wish concerning a minor. Where this is the case, please do not submit any Personal Data of a minor unless: (a) you have the express consent and participation of that minor’s parent or legal guardian; and (b) you have brought this Policy to the attention of that parent or legal guardian.
6. Personal Data relating to third parties
6.1. We acknowledge that Entrants may submit a Wish on behalf of, or that relates to, other persons or third parties. If you provide Us with Personal Data relating to another person in connection with your Wish, you warrant and undertake that:
(a) you have obtained, and will maintain, that person’s consent to the collection and use of that person’s Personal Data by Us accordance with this Policy;
(b) you have explained to that person that their Personal Data must be processed by Us;
(c) you will bring this Policy to that person’s attention.
7. How We use your Personal Data and Our legal basis for doing so
7.1. If you are an Entrant, your Personal Data may be stored and processed by Us in the following ways and for the following purposes:
(a) to enable you to enter the Competition and submit your Wish;
(b) to refer to you and your Wish in marketing and promotional materials;
(c) if your Wish is shortlisted, to publish details of your Wish on our Site for the purposes of the public vote;
(d) if you are a winner, to assess your eligibility to receive a prize; and
(e) if you are a winner, to publish your victory on the Site and in different media.
7.2. If you are a Voter, your Personal Data may be stored and processed by Us to enable you to vote for your favourite Wishes in the Competition. If, when submitting your vote, you choose to participate in Our free draw to win an entry ticket for Our monthly Big Ticket draw, We will also process your Personal Data for the purposes of entering you into that draw.
7.3. In all cases, if you are a visitor to the Site, your Personal Data may be stored and processed by Us in the following ways and for the following purposes:
(a) for ongoing review and improvement of the information provided the Site to ensure it is user friendly and to prevent any potential disruptions or cyber-attacks;
(b) to allow you to use and access the functionality provided by the Site;
(c) to respond to any messages you send to Us via our help desk using the details listed in section 15 below ;
(d) for the management and administration of Our business and the Competition;
(e) for statistical monitoring and analysis of current attacks on devices and systems and for the ongoing adaptation of the solutions provided to secure devices and systems against current attacks;
(f) to administer and protect Our business, the Site, and the Competition including system maintenance, support, reporting and hosting of data, detection of intellectual property infringement or misuse of the Site;
(g) for in-depth threat analysis; and
(h) in order to comply with, and in order to assess compliance with, applicable laws, rules and regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
7.4. Whenever We use Personal Data, We make sure that Our usage complies with applicable laws. In particular, your Personal Data may be:
(a) collected based on your consent;
(b) required so that you can participate in the Competition in accordance with the Competition Terms if you are an Entrant;
(c) required so that you can vote in the Competition in accordance with the Competition Terms if you are a Voter;
(d) required to fulfil or comply with legal or regulatory requirements to which We are subject;
(e) necessary for the performance of the contract incorporating the Competition Terms; or
(f) otherwise necessary for the purposes of our legitimate business interests, such as allowing us to effectively and efficiently manage and administer the operation of our Site and the Competition.
7.5. You have no obligation to provide any information requested by Us. However, if you choose to withhold requested information, this may affect your participation in the Competition (particularly where Our collection of this information is required by law or in order to verify your identity and/or assess your eligibility to receive a prize).
8. Disclosure of your Personal Data to third parties
8.1. We may share your Personal Data within Our group of companies for the purposes described above. We will take steps to ensure that access to Personal Data is restricted to employees who have a legitimate interest in the purposes described in this Policy.
8.2. We may also share your Personal Data:
(a) with agents, contractors, third party service providers (such as those providing compliance, administrative, communications, marketing, computer services and other services in connection with the managing, processing and storage of your Personal Data and/or the operation of Our business or the Competition). These third parties will be subject to appropriate data protection obligations;
(b) if We sell Our business or assets, in which case We may need to disclose your Personal Data to the prospective buyer for due diligence purposes;
(c) if required by applicable law, for example if We are under a duty to disclose your Personal Data in order to comply with any legal obligation (including, without limitation, in order to comply with a court order, subpoena or other legal process); or
(d) in response to a request by a government authority, law enforcement agency or similar body (whether situated in your jurisdiction or elsewhere).
9. International transfers of Personal Data
9.1. We are a global business with customers and operations located abroad. As a result, you acknowledge and agree that We may transfer your Personal Data to locations outside of the UAE or the country from which you access the Site.
9.2. Where We transfer Personal Data internationally, We will ensure that it is protected and transferred in a manner consistent with applicable legal requirements.
10. How We safeguard your Personal Data
10.1. We will take all reasonable and practicable steps to keep your Personal Data secure and confidential.
11. How long We keep your Personal Data
11.1. How long We will hold your Personal Data for will vary and will be determined by the following cumulative criteria:
(a) the purpose for which We are using it – We will need to keep your Personal Data for as long as is necessary for that purpose; and
(b) legal obligations – applicable laws or regulations may set a minimum period for which We have to keep your Personal Data.
11.2. In any case, your Personal Data will not be kept in a form that allows you to be identified for any longer than is reasonably considered necessary by Us in accordance with the criteria in section 11.1.
12. Your rights
12.1. In all the above cases in which We collect, use or store your Personal Data, you may have the following rights which you can exercise free of charge. These rights include:
(a) Withdrawal of consent: You can withdraw your consent to the processing of your Personal Data at any time. Please note, however, that withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing before its withdrawal and We may still be entitled to process your Personal Data if We have another legitimate reason for doing so. For example, We may need to retain your Personal Data to comply with a legal obligation.
(b) Access: You can ask Us to confirm whether We process your Personal Data and obtain information regarding the processing of your Personal Data.
(c) Erasure: You can ask Us to erase your Personal Data in certain circumstances. Please note that there may be circumstances where you ask Us to erase your Personal Data but We are legally required or entitled to retain it. For example, We may need to retain your Personal Data to comply with a legal obligation or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
(d) Correction: You can ask Us to rectify or complete inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data.
(e) Restriction: You can object to, or request that We restrict, our processing of your Personal Data in certain circumstances, including in respect of direct marketing. Again, there may be circumstances where you object to, or ask Us to restrict, Our processing of your Personal Data but We are legally entitled to refuse that request.
(f) Transfer: In some circumstances, you have the right to receive your Personal Data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.

13. Cookies
13.1. Our Site uses cookies. Cookies are small text files which are likely to be stored in a dedicated space on your device when you have browsed the Site.
13.2. In particular, We use cookies that are “strictly necessary” for the functionality of the Site. These cookies record information necessary for the proper functioning of the Site and are essential to enable users to visit the Site and fulfil express requests from a user (e.g., cookies that temporarily store the contents of an online form). A deactivation of this type of cookies would reduce all or part of the functions of the Site. We may also use targeting and advertising cookies to better customize advertisements to your interests.
14. Changes to this Policy
14.1. We may update this Policy from time to time. Should We do so, the new terms will become effective from the moment they are uploaded onto the Site. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you of any material changes to this Policy. However, you should check the Policy when you visit the Site to confirm the most recent Policy that applies.
